Imagine waking to the gentle sound of waves hitting the shoreline. The smell of salt mist in the sir. Warm rays of sunlight bathing you in their warmth as you sip your morning coffee and watch the sunrise on another beautiful day this isn’t a dream it’s how you can wake every morning while staying at The Caravelle Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Caravelle Resort is made up of 9 buildings sporting 600 units. It sits on the famed Golden Mile of Myrtle Beach. The resort is home to world-class cuisine, poolside fun, and access to over 60 miles of beach.
The Caravelle Resort
When we were invited up as a family to enjoy The Caravelle Resort I really was excited. I had spent hours on their web page checking out all the awesome amenities they had to offer. I knew this was going to be a wonderful place for our family to make some lasting memories and to bond.
Let’s start by talking food. I am a mom with a teen boy so food is a huge part of everyday life for me. the food options at the Caravelle are many but also seasonal. The Pirate’s Cove Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop and the Marco Polo Pool Bar and Grill were both closed during my stay but talking to the locals and frequent visitors they all agreed that both these places are a must visit. We did, however, enjoy both breakfast and dinner at The Santa Maria Restaurant. Breakfast really good. Made up of a buffet with many choices including a waffle bar and an omelet station breakfast was definitely a highlight. dinner was also wonderful they really know how to cook a steak so that it literally melts in your mouth. the boy got a build your own burger which was pretty good considering he added nacho cheese to his.
Foodie Tip: have them make you a Swiss and spinach omelet it is so good.
Our room was amazing with a view that was spectacular. We were located on the 15th floor with a room facing the ocean. This was perfect for me who loves waking to watch the sunrise over the ocean. The room was equipped with a full refrigerator, stove and sick with all the utensil you need to cook which is great if you’re on a budget and prefer to eat in instead of spending money on eating out.
The bathroom was stocked with everything you needed including extra towels.
There was a huge TV for viewing the daily weather, a chair for reading and a tale that sat 4 for eating. The beds were so comfortable. Every night I would curl up in mine to read or get work done.
Traveler Tip: Bring a blanket from home that you can use to cover up with as you sit on the balcony to watch the ocean waves as they roll onto the shore or to watch the sunrise and set.
The resort was gorgeous. It sat right on the shores of the beach with lots of wonderful things to enjoy. You could walk the beach with easy access from the resort. Sip iced tea from a hammock on the rooftop patio. Enjoy a swim in the indoor or outdoor pool. Relax in the hot tub. Play games in the arcade. Or simply enjoy a restful seat on your balcony sipping tea or reading a book. There were also many things to do with walking and driving distance of the resort.
Traveler Tip: When booking ask for an ocean view room you will not regret it I promise.
My Final Thoughts
As I sit here writing this post and reflect back on my time at The Caravelle Resort I am struck by two very important details. One this is a wonderful place for a family to enjoy some quality time together. Two the staff here makes you feel at home and it’s a place that gives back. They are really big on community togetherness and giving to great causes. Oh and one more thing it’s on the beach enough said about that.
