Music Monday – Taking on Classic rock

Classic rock

Hello, my friends and welcome to Music Monday.

Classic rock to most it is any rock music released in the 60’s, 70’s or even dare I say the 80’s.  I know how anything from the 80’s can be called classic is beyond me, after all, I am still 16 or at least in my mind, I am.

I will say being classic rock is a lot nicer than want my son and his friends call it. They are partially the reason for this post today. This past weekend my son was at a friends house and they were listening to music when Smoke on the water came on. It led to a small discussion about how classic rock music is good.

On the way, home son mentions that he missed playing “old people” music on his guitar. When I asked him to defined “old people” music he tells me anything from when I was a kid. Thanks, son it’s referred to as classic not old.

Either way, whether you child calls is old people music or we call it classic it’s music that is good. it comes from a time when musician knew how to make a great song that stood the test of time. So in honor of us folks that may be a wee bit older in our age but not mind, I am going back in time to the classics.

My Classic Rock Playlist

Purple Haze ~ Smoke on the Water

  1. Love these! What a way to get movin in the morning. I feel like I could take on anything after this!! Thanks for the inspiration and great tunes 🙂

  2. I wasn’t born until 1982 but I grew up on this music because my dad listened to it constantly and it is still my favorite. Nothing beats that generation for music. <3

  3. These are great songs! I love Take it easy, always such an awesome song to relax to. I make sure to introduce classic songs like this to my kids.

  4. This is one of my favorite genres. I listened to songs like these well into the 90s. They’ve definitely aged well.

  5. I think you and I have similar tastes in music! I could listen to these artists all day. Throw in a little Grateful Dead and Blue Oyster Cult and I’m all there.
