August is a big-time here in Florida it’s when the happiest place on earth transform into its fall decorations. It is also when we are treated to the first night of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This special ticketed event is a highlight of the fall season and runs on select nights through November.
As a Disney mom, I love watching the Magic Kingdom come alive with fall decorations and okay I like trick or treating too. I may not be young in years but I am young at heart. Plus I like having the freedom to run around the park at night when the sun goes down when temps are cooler and well lines shrink too.
With your ticket, you can enter the park at 4 PM to start taking those memorable photos. however the real arty doesn’t begin till 7 PM and runs till 12 AM. So what can you do? I am glad you asked here are a few things I suggest to check out while hanging out at Mickey’s place. Trick or Treat
5 Fun Things At Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Trick Or Treat
Who says adults are too old to have fun trick or treating? Not Disney in fact they encourage us, adults, to let loose our inner child and have fun. As you enter the park you will receive a special wrist band and map that lets you know where all the candy stations are. But don’t worry if reading maps aren’t your thing because Disney has you covered with huge blow-up columns that are lite up to let you know where the candy is.
Disney castmembers dressed in Halloween attire will also give you a treat bag to hold all your candy. No worries if it fills up fast because cast members are located throughout the park to give you more bags.
Unique Character Meet and Greet
Une of my favorite things about Disney is getting to meet my favorite Disney princesses and heroes. But getting to see my favorite character dressed in their Halloween finest is even more fun. Not to mention if like me you have a little soft spot for a villain or two you are in luck because Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is great time to see Cruela and Jafar.
Plus Jack Skeleton and Sally can be found at the party too.
Visit Popular Attractions
During Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great time to ride some of the more popular rides that usually have long lines like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Flight of Peter Pan. I walked right onto Big Thunder Mountain during the party.
Along with short lines, some of the rides have special experiences you can enjoy like special lighting on the Mad Tea Party ride and pirates that really speak to you on Pirates of the Caribbean. Who doesn’t want to talk with a real pirate?
Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade
No trip to Disney would be complete without a fun parade and Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade is everything I had hoped it would be. Leading the parade is the Headless Horseman who rides through the streets. then comes all the ghoulish fun.
Joining Mickey and Minnie are their friends Edna Mode, Buzz, Wreck-it-Ralph and new this year those hitchhiking ghost. It is a ghoulishly good time but be sure to find your seat early if you want a good view. The parade runs twice so check your guide for times.
Hocus Pocus Stage Show
Now if you are like me and no Halloween is complete without those mischievous Sanderson Sisters then you must see the Hocus Pocus stage show. With only a few hours to run amuck at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Winifred, Mary, and Sarah decide to use their magic to host a decidedly wicked fun fest. with the help of some of their villainous friends, the Sanderson Sisters use their magic to conjure up the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion.
This stage show happens several times a night so be sure to check your or for easier access My Disney Experience mobile app.
