It’s the beginning of the new year and with it comes to the resolutions.
You know what I mean the I’m going to quit (fill in the blank)
I’m going to be more (fill in the blanket)
Or my personal favorite I’m going to get healthy this year.
Then life happens and all the resolutions begin to fall away. You find yourself back in the same place you were before you made those resolutions. You know what I mean eating food from the drive-thru, grabbing an unhealthy snack during that three o’clock slump or my personal battle not resisting the junk food left lying around. But what if I told you there was a way to keep going on your health journey. No, I didn’t say be perfect, I said keep going.
Let’s face it life is exhausting with work, family and just making it through the day. But with small changes that can be powerful, those bumps in the road can be just that bumps not complete crashes.
Visualize your goal
What exactly was your goal when you made your resolution? Was it to lose a pound a week? Was it to be able to take the stairs instead of the elevator? Maybe it was to find healthy alternatives to your eating habits. You have to know where you are going in order to get there.

Visualize your goal. See yourself there. Whether it’s you wearing a bathing suit for summer, walking the block 2 times or just grabbing a healthy snack instead of junk see it in your mind then work towards it.
Prioritize Your Time
Making time for your health is essential. Make a list of the things you need to do to reach your goal and schedule them into your day. Whether it’s meal prep, getting in your workout or even getting enough sleep. Believe it or not, we make time for the things we feel are important and that includes your health. Consider taking an hour on Sunday to meal prep for the week, watch one less episode of your favorite show on Netflix in order to get in a workout. For me, it’s turning off all electronics an hour early so I can get a full night’s rest.
Get Help to Make Your Health A Priority
Asking for help can be one of the hardest things we ever do. However, it’s the most essential. No one can know everything or do everything alone. You need to have tools to help.
