the Last Jedi

My Review

So much happened! I’m not even sure I’ve processed all of it yet. I was kept up last night with scenes replaying in my head.  This is one film that has to be seen at least twice in theaters to fully wrap your head around everything that happened.

Belly laughs happened. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard at a Star Wars film before. I rather enjoyed it, but will confess some of the comedic moments weren’t needed.

Where there is love there is hate. Always connected and always overwhelmingly strong.

There were tears and not for the reason you expect. I have to admit that I was emotionally attached to this movie in a way I haven’t ever been. I don’t know why. It took me by surprise and I’m still wondering where the deep emotions came from. But The Last Jedi will stay with me always.

There are plot twists and turns you never thought you’d see, but they give insight and while others leave you hanging.

It’s long. Go to the bathroom BEFORE the movie and limit the soda. I’m not a huge movie buff. I get uncomfortable sitting for so long, but these two and half hours were over in no time.

Porgs – Are EVERYTHING! I feel in love with them before I knew there place in the film. Now, I love them even more.

the Last Jedi

Is it Kid-Friendly

Overall – YES! Mild violence, so if you are against that you might want to keep the young ones home. But there was very little swearing, if even any. And Star Wars films aren’t known for their nudity or sexual scenes.

I think the biggest issue will be how long it is. And you’re not going to want to miss a minute of it for a potty break. So I suggest an adult only viewing before taking the kiddos.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was everything I needed it to be and everything I didn’t know I wanted. I wanted to turn around and go watch it again as soon as I left the theater.

Go see it you MUST! And may the Force be with you always.

  1. Ahhh I need to see this. My son and husband are both so excited about this. I’m hoping some point over the Christmas Holidays we will be able to go see. I love that you were emotionally touched by the film in unexpected ways. And thank you for no Spoilers

  2. Everyone I know who has seen it already has been raving about it non-stop! Though I’m not a huge fan of the franchise, I have to admit that I’m also getting caught up in the hype. Glad it lived up to the expectations!

  3. The Force is strong in my family!!!! We LOVE all things Star Wars and my youngest son and I were blessed to attend a Fan event viewing on Thursday !!!

  4. am glad there are no spoilers lol because I am totally excited to see this! I love Star Wars. My mom watched it when she was a kid and passed her love down to me! We are even stoked about all the new Star Wars stuff coming to Disney soon

  5. My husband ran out to see this yesterday because he was hearing so many spoilers. He figured that if he didn’t see it right away, all the surprise would be ruined. I’ve only ever seen the first Star Wars movie (when a friend sat me down and made me..lol) So I’m too far behind to see this one. But sounds like it was lots of fun.

  6. I haven’t seen any of the latest star wars movies. I love fantasy but this franchise just hasn’t been top of my list. My husband though has plans with all his guy friends to go see it!

  7. My kids are huge Star Wars fans and I am taking them to see it next weekend. I am so glad there were no spoilers in your review but so glad that you mentioned that there lots of laughs. I am so looking forward to seeing The Last Jedi.

  8. My son and husband saw this movie yesterday with Cub Scouts. The theater was only opened for them. It was pretty cool.

  9. This is a great review! My kids would like to see it, so appreciate your part about it being kid friendly!

  10. We didn’t see the last one in theaters so I’m not sure we will catch this one either but we did enjoy it. I’m not sure the kids would last 2.5 hours in the theater. I’m surprised it’s as funny as you mentioned and I’m sure the action scenes are insanely good. Appreciated your non spoiler review.

  11. I can’t wait to see this movie. I wanted to wait for some of the crowds to die down before I ventured to the theater. I’ve seen every Star Wars movie in the theater so I have to see this one there as well.

  12. I honestly cannot wait to see the movie, my family is coming into town this weekend and we are planning a family movie night. I know for sure the boys are into this and we will be seeing the move. Thank you for your non spoiler review.
