The long wait is finally over as Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released in theaters today. Fans all over the world will be heading out in droves to see this film this weekend. Costumes will be worn by Star Wars junkies of all ages, pictures will be taken and social media will blow up!
At our screening, the plea went out to all those seeing it to please give everyone the chance to enjoy the surprises and plot twists and without spoilers. I can’t agree with this more, so you won’t be finding any spoilers here.
So much happened! I’m not even sure I’ve processed all of it yet. I was kept up last night with scenes replaying in my head. This is one film that has to be seen at least twice in theaters to fully wrap your head around everything that happened.
Belly laughs happened. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard at a Star Wars film before. I rather enjoyed it, but will confess some of the comedic moments weren’t needed.
Where there is love there is hate. Always connected and always overwhelmingly strong.
There were tears and not for the reason you expect. I have to admit that I was emotionally attached to this movie in a way I haven’t ever been. I don’t know why. It took me by surprise and I’m still wondering where the deep emotions came from. But The Last Jedi will stay with me always.
There are plot twists and turns you never thought you’d see, but they give insight and while others leave you hanging.
It’s long. Go to the bathroom BEFORE the movie and limit the soda. I’m not a huge movie buff. I get uncomfortable sitting for so long, but these two and half hours were over in no time.
Porgs – Are EVERYTHING! I feel in love with them before I knew there place in the film. Now, I love them even more.
Is it Kid-Friendly
Overall – YES! Mild violence, so if you are against that you might want to keep the young ones home. But there was very little swearing, if even any. And Star Wars films aren’t known for their nudity or sexual scenes.
I think the biggest issue will be how long it is. And you’re not going to want to miss a minute of it for a potty break. So I suggest an adult only viewing before taking the kiddos.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi was everything I needed it to be and everything I didn’t know I wanted. I wanted to turn around and go watch it again as soon as I left the theater.
Go see it you MUST! And may the Force be with you always.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI in theaters NOW!!
