I was 12 the first time I picked up a copy of A Wrinkle in Time. It was the summer of ’83 I was still considered the new kid in town so I didn’t have any friends to hang out with. My mom had gone back to work and well my brothers weren’t my favorite playmates at the time. So I did what I always do when I want to escape the real world I picked up a book.
Back then I would never have guessed the adventures I was taking within the pages of a book would one day come to life on a big screen and with a star-studded cast including Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Pine. It is mind-blowing.
From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on
Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space,
examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s
transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing
one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
A Wrinkle In Time opens in US theaters March 9, 2018.
