Darkest Hour Trailer and Poster Featuring Gary Oldman as Churchill

Gary Oldman

Yesterday I had the pleasure of sharing the first still from the upcoming Focus Features film Darkest Hour starring Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill. I must admit I am excited for this film as I enjoy films that have some basis in history.  I may not be a huge history major but I do enjoy the time period.

So I am very excited to share that Focus Features has debuted the first trailer and poster for Darkest Hour, directed by Joe Wright and starring Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill. Check out the Darkest Hour trailer below, along with the poster.

Darkest Hour Featuring Gary Oldman as Churchill

A thrilling and inspiring true story begins on the eve of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.

Focus Features will release Darkest Hour in select cities on November 22, 2017

  1. I love learning about history and historical fiction is a fun way to do that. Can’t wait to learn more about Churchill and see this film.

  2. I have always been fascinated by Winston Churchill. Maybe it is his insights on life. This appears to be a very worthwhile film, something my husband and I could enjoy together… hey, maybe even the kids, too. 🙂
