Traveling can really work up an appetite and if you know me, you know I never turn down food. I have the hips and booty to prove it. I love a good meal and when we travel I love finding new places to eat at. I usually always ask locals where they enjoy eating. Why you may ask because the locals always know where the good food and company is.
Daytona Diner located at 2043 S. Atlantic Ave. this diner is a throwback to old hollywood diner, think Grease or an old soda shop. Decorated with photos of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe as well as coca cola memorabilia it’s like stepping back in time. The service however is top notch. We enter and were seated immediately in a comfortable booth but you can choose to sit at the bar on stools.
Breakfast is served all day but I heard from locals that the burgers are the best and that their desert is a must have. We of course were there for breakfast. Hubby and I each went with burritos mine an all veggie and hubby a bacon, egg and cheese. C went all out and chose the Elvis breakfast sandwich which is banana, peanut butter, bacon, drizzled with honey on texas toast. Talk about starting the morning right.
Dancing Avocado Kitchen located at 110 S Beach St, Is a very funky and unique restaurant is warm and welcoming. From the moment you enter you feel like you belong. The service was very good and the food was AMAZING!!
Everything is made fresh and with quality ingredients. The portions are wonderful you get plenty to eat.
Though this is a vegetarian restaurant my husband who is a carnivore by nature enjoyed his meal. Hubby went with their bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with potatoes, I went with their vegan waffle topped with warm blueberries and C went all out again with chocolate chip waffles. We were so stuffed I needed a good walk on the beach.
Joe’s Crab Shack located at 1200 Main St. this restaurant sits on the Boardwalk Pier overlooking the ocean. This place is not only a fun place to visit but being above the ocean and getting to watch the waves while you eat is an experience you can’t miss. From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. c got tickled that after ordering our waitress Kara came to put a bib on him.
Inlet Harbor located at 133 Inlet Harbor Rd. is another amazing seafood restaurant found in Daytona. Located right on the water you can choose to eat outside on their deck or indoors. The indoor side gives you this amazing view of the water where you can watch boats come and go. The atmosphere here is friendly and fun like hanging out with friends.
The food is mouth watering. Hubby was impressed with this place and couldn’t say enough good things about it when he got home. For food choices hubby went with their oyster Po’Boy, I went with their amazing baked potato cooked to perfection, and C went with a shrimp Po’Boy. We enjoyed the food so much and we enjoyed talking a walk around the marina after dinner. This is one of those places you can’t wait to get back to.
Do you enjoy trying new restaurants when traveling? What has been one of your favorite places to eat?
